In a previous post I said I was going to try desktop publishing, but I've decided that I'm going back to my original direction with a more proactive approach. I was just putting the links on the blogs and hoping someone would want to buy something. I'm going to actively market my affilites, somehow, I'm not sure how yet, but I do know I'm going to use some of the methods at Big Daddy. They've been adding more and more services to their site. They have a classified secion now as well as several other interesting departments.
I'll also check out other free classified web sites. I'm also thinking about eBay, but I don't know yet if I'll be able to sell a service on their site, I'll have to ask. I'm also planning on reviewing the different affiliates I'm with and placing links in the post.
I've been listening to a book on tape by Bruce Judson called Go It Alone! The Secret to Building a Successful ... which has been very helpful. It's helping me focus on what I want to do. He was a college professor who has built his own business and used it as a lab to test out his business theories. I've listened to it once, but I'm going to listen again, and maybe a third time. I'm a great believer in the library and have browsed the online catalog for business books that interest me.
I've found the Teach Yourself Visually books from maranGraphics & Wiley Publishing, Inc. to be very helpful with step by step instructions and full color graphics. They have other series in their Visual line called Simplified, Master Visually, Visual Blueprint, and In An Instant. I recommend these books especially if you don't like to plow through a long winded explanation. For me a picture is worth a thousand words.
