Defunct Mall

My website the Clyde Mall is no more. To try to use the Build a Niche program I paid for a 3 month upgrade to my website at Bravenet.com. I was never able to get the thing up and running, so I let it lapse and deleted the website. I haven't quit, I'm just regrouping to use the knowledge I've gotten from running that site. When I set up my Clyde Mall again, I won't use Commision Junction or any of the other affiliate services until I have the site up and drawing traffic. My biggest problem has been to gain traffic for my sites and trying to move too fast for what I know about affiliate marketing.

I feel it's time to slow down and do some research into affiliate marketing and enticing traffic.

I have come across a couple of link exchanges that I like. One is called Link Referral and the other is called Traffic G. I've set them up on my Family History Basics blog now.

I haven't done much with Big Daddy lately. It's a good idea, but I like to see some results before I fork over my money. I regret going with the Build a Niche program, but I think it's working for some people. I'm just not computer savvy enough. I've learned quite a bit in a little over a year, but I need to learn so much more.

Statistics

I just added StatCounter.com to my blogs. I see that I have had 2 hits since I added the counter to this blog. If you haven't heard of this site, it's free. There are upgrades for $9, $19, and $29 per month. Now when people ask me how many visitors I get I can tell them. I won't have to sound dumb and say I don't know.

I've also just joined a link referral site called LinkReferral.com that looks interesting. This is also free. The more sites you visit and review the more your site is visited. I'll let you how well it works.

I've been working on my website, The Clyde Mall. I've set up links to other free game sites and added more games as well as jigsaw puzzles you can solve online. I'm looking for more word puzzles to put on the site.

Build-A-Niche-Store

I've found a new opportunity that looks interesting to me and I have bought the package. It costs $97 and gives you the ability to build over 2,000 stores and you can choose which ones you want to work with. The only problem I'm having (and it is a doozy) is getting it set up on Bravene.com so I can get my stores up and running.

The first thing I did after I downloaded the zip file from the company, was figure out how to unzip the file. That took me a while. Then after I upzipped the file, I had to move to my husband's computer to be able to read the manual that comes with it because this computer doesn't support PDF files.

When I tried to upload to Bravenet, I got a message saying there was a bad extention. So I tried uploading just one of the files, and I still got that message. I did a little research and discovered that my free service would have to be upgraded to a paid service. I did that, and tried uploading again, but I lost the file I uploaded. I knew it uploaded, but I have no idea where it went. I've been working on this off and on since Sunday.

I sent out a couple of SOS's and hope I can get some help with this. I'll let you know how it all turns out.
