I've found a new opportunity that looks interesting to me and I have bought the package. It costs $97 and gives you the ability to build over 2,000 stores and you can choose which ones you want to work with. The only problem I'm having (and it is a doozy) is getting it set up on Bravene.com so I can get my stores up and running.
The first thing I did after I downloaded the zip file from the company, was figure out how to unzip the file. That took me a while. Then after I upzipped the file, I had to move to my husband's computer to be able to read the manual that comes with it because this computer doesn't support PDF files.
When I tried to upload to Bravenet, I got a message saying there was a bad extention. So I tried uploading just one of the files, and I still got that message. I did a little research and discovered that my free service would have to be upgraded to a paid service. I did that, and tried uploading again, but I lost the file I uploaded. I knew it uploaded, but I have no idea where it went. I've been working on this off and on since Sunday.
I sent out a couple of SOS's and hope I can get some help with this. I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Go It Alone
I happened on this book by Bruce Judson called
Go It Alone! The Secret to Building a Successful Business on Your Own
His principles for success are:
1. Focus on limiting risks.
2. Don't try to push your customers into a whole new system.
3. Make a real committment to flexibility and ongoing innovation.
4. Create the ability to scale.
5. Maintain an experimental attitude.
6. Take yourself off the clock.
7. Master the potential of new technologies.
8. Develope a bias toward action taking small steps.
9. Make a committment to find a way.
10. Only use off the shelf products.
Judson says there has been a great shift in what's possible for a single person to accomplish in our new economy. He discusses these 4 concepts in Chapter 3
1. extreme outsourcing and a relentless focus on enhancement
2. permanent and continuing changes in our economic environment
3. the growing role specialization in the economy plays
4. the implications of this new business environment
Below are the subjects of his other chapters
4. Do What You Do Best
5. How to Create Your Business System
6. The Myths About Start-ups
7. Why You Don't Want to Be a Free Agent or a Franchisee
8. Managing Extreme Outsourcing
9. Lessons from Some Inventive Companies
10. Evaluating Your Proposed Business
11. When to Quit Your Day Job
12. The Race to Liquidity: Why Venture Capital Is Not for You
13. Mistakes Happen-Learn from Them
14. Suddenly, Just Me
Conclusion: Fear Is The Enemy
This book has really helped me get my ideas straight about what I want to go and where I want to end up. I recommend it very highly. I borrowed this book from the library and I want to get a copy of my own. They're going to want this copy of the book back before long. You can get a look at the book at Bruce Judson's website at http://www.brucejudson.com/. He has it online and you can read parts of it there.

In a previous post I said I was going to try desktop publishing, but I've decided that I'm going back to my original direction with a more proactive approach. I was just putting the links on the blogs and hoping someone would want to buy something. I'm going to actively market my affilites, somehow, I'm not sure how yet, but I do know I'm going to use some of the methods at Big Daddy. They've been adding more and more services to their site. They have a classified secion now as well as several other interesting departments.
I'll also check out other free classified web sites. I'm also thinking about eBay, but I don't know yet if I'll be able to sell a service on their site, I'll have to ask. I'm also planning on reviewing the different affiliates I'm with and placing links in the post.
I've been listening to a book on tape by Bruce Judson called Go It Alone! The Secret to Building a Successful ... which has been very helpful. It's helping me focus on what I want to do. He was a college professor who has built his own business and used it as a lab to test out his business theories. I've listened to it once, but I'm going to listen again, and maybe a third time. I'm a great believer in the library and have browsed the online catalog for business books that interest me.
I've found the Teach Yourself Visually books from maranGraphics & Wiley Publishing, Inc. to be very helpful with step by step instructions and full color graphics. They have other series in their Visual line called Simplified, Master Visually, Visual Blueprint, and In An Instant. I recommend these books especially if you don't like to plow through a long winded explanation. For me a picture is worth a thousand words.

Today I received my weekly newsletter, Self-Starters Weekly Tips. Inside the author, Lynn Terry, was reviewing pay to post opportunities on another of her blogs, ClicksNewz. I applied to one of them today, was rejected because the blog I submitted didn't have 20 posts on it. I'll correct that and resubmit. I really like the way they do their offers at PayPerPost. You can browse the offers and choose the ones you feel will best fit the theme of your blog, and you can do as many as you want. They have several pages of posted offers for you to choose from.
In this same post is a link leading to jobs for bloggers at Blogitive.com. I've mentioned Blogitive before and they do pay weekly while PayPerPost pays after the post has been on your blog for 30 days. Blogitive is new and is having its growing pains, but I think it'll get better as it goes along.
She also reviewed ReviewMe in another post on ClicksNewz. She goes into detail about the program and it sounds very promising. This one also just went live last month, and they pay very well for your writing.
The Self-Starter's Weekly Tips is very informative with a ton of how-tos in affiliate marketing and other forms of generating income on the internet. The newsletter is free, just sign up and it'll start coming to you via e-mail every week. There is also a forum.
